Platinum Wine Walk
Our Platinum Wine Walk options include the following options – depending on the number of nights selected.
On one day, a personalized wine tasting with a Hemel en Aarde valley wine maker and on another day, a personalized gin tasting the Wine Village owner and mixologist. And a gourmet meal at Spookfontein Wine Estate, or Moggs County Kitchen.
Wine Walks are conducted in the now famous Hemel en Aarde Wine Valley , a vinicultural zone that extends 27km north-eastwards from the whale-watching town of Hermanus along the R 320 to Caledon . Hemel- en -Aarde ( translates from the Afrikaans language as “Heaven and Earth) aptly named by early Moravian missionaries who served in the region. The valley is divided into 3 wards each with a distinct Wine of Origin (WO) designation: The Hemel -en-Aarde Valley ,situated closest to the sea, through the vineyards of the The Upper Hemel -en-Aarde Valley and the furthest inland The Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. Bordered by the Babylonstoren Mountains to the north and on the south by the Kleinrivier Mountains, with the Onrust River running through the valley.
