Immerse yourself in the charm of the Hemel Aarde Valley by staying at our 4-star cottage on our beautiful working farm. You’ll have the perfect chance to enjoy the finest wines of the valley, with award-winning wine estates just a short walk away. Experience the breathtaking beauty of Hermanus from the top of Rotary Way, then take a leisurely stroll through the fragrant mountain fynbos and discover the amazing flavors of Hamilton Russell’s Estate vineyard. Hamilton Russell, one of the most southerly wine estates in Africa, has been a pioneer in viticulture and winemaking in the Hemel Aarde Valley.

Anthony Hamilton Russell beautifully sums up our approach: ‘We don’t just use Hamilton Russell Vineyards to make Pinot noir and Chardonnay; we use these grapes to express the unique beauty and character of Hamilton Russell Vineyards. Prepare to be mesmerized as you venture past the renowned La Vierge Winery, taking in the breathtaking scenery along the way. Our next destination is the enchanting Bosman Family Winery, where you’ll be treated to an exquisite wine tasting experience at their charming Frame House. Savor the flavors of their sumptuous tapas platters, perfectly paired with their exceptional wines. But the journey doesn’t end there – we’ll continue our odyssey at La Vierge for a sublime wine and chocolate pairing. Immerse yourself in the rich notes of their award-winning wines, carefully complemented by the indulgent sweetness of artisanal chocolates.

To complete this wondrous day, we’ll leisurely walk back to High Season Farm, creating lasting memories as we cover a distance of approximately 14km. Uncover the hidden treasures of the valley, surrender to the allure of exquisite flavors, and embark on an unforgettable wine and walking tour like no other.

DAY 3

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on an unforgettable journey. We’ll take you to the trail that winds through the picturesque valley, nestled beneath the majestic Babylonstoren Mountain range. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at Ataraxia, the valley’s highest winery, where you can indulge in a tasting and discover the rich flavors of their wines. As we continue our hike, we’ll traverse the Kleinrivier mountainside, surrounded by fragrant olive trees and vibrant fynbos. Our next destination is the charming tasting room of Spookfontein, where you can relax and savor a delectable lunch in their marvelous boutique restaurant. (Distance: 11 km)

Take a leisurely stroll to Dutchies restaurant, nestled alongside the pristine Grotto Beach, where you’ll savor a champagne breakfast with an unbeatable sea view.
